Will a B or B- first semester in Calc BC significantly harm my chances at T20s?
I applied as an engineering major, with only one previous B, also in math.

I think it will definitely hurt your chances since you are an engineering major, but there isn’t much you can do now.
I honestly think you’re fine… I’m very likely gonna end calc with a B- first semester too and I’m gonna go on the pre-med track… the B- doesn’t so much as concern me. Calc BC is an AP class, it’s not like we took an easier level class, it just shows we didn’t slack off our senior year like many kids do. We could have just as easily gotten an A in an easier math class if that’s the route we decided to take, but we didn’t. My theory is if that B- is what makes or breaks our chances, then that school really wasn’t meant for us and we shouldn’t want to go to the school that rejected us over that anyways.
