B in Middle School, but for a high school credit class

Hey! I’m currently a sophomore, and when looking at my school transcript, I noticed that I had a B back from eighth grade in Honors Biology. I had previously thought that middle school grades, even if they were considered “high school classes”, would have no impact later, but now I’m having some doubts.

Will this affect me?

*It did not impact my GPA in any way.

One B will not ruin your chances of admission anywhere. So stop worrying about this.

If it is not counted in your hs gpa then it will have no effect whatsoever. Even if it was counted in your hs gpa (it is in my kids school district) many colleges would not count it in you gpa considered for admissions.

@happymomof1 Sure, but it certainly doesn’t help. It’d be pretty annoying if my only B after working hard for 4 years in difficult classes was in something stupid such as Bio 1.

That B was in Honors Biology in 8th grade. It is not at all “something stupid”. You took the Honors section of a HS class at least one full year ahead of schedule. Even if you had taken it as a sophomore (when the normal sequence at my kid’s HS puts it), a B in the Honors section would be nothing to sneer at.

If you want credit for the class (and you might need it to graduate), then it will appear on the hs transcript. As you said it is not part of your gpa so whoever is reviewing your transcript will see it but if that’s your only B and your gpa is 4.0, they will know it is not included in the gpa.
