High School Credits in Middle School

I currently take 3 high school credits (I am in middle school). I have decent overall grades, A- and A's, but I still would like to improve. Will all of the grades go into my high school GPA? thanks

At my school it depends on whether your MS classes get HS credits. If not–then no GPA, they just show up on the transcript. It sounds like you do get HS credits? Then the policy will probably vary by school.

Yep. Mine figured into my GPA or I wouldn’t be able to get credit for taking them (which I definitely need). I took Honors Bio and Honors Spanish 2 - 2 B+'s and 2 A-'s. In retrospect, I wish I’d done better, but I was in seventh grade at the time.

Varies by school. Ask them.

I’d be suprised if they didn’t but still check with the school.

Why oh why are you on CC?

depends on the school, the classes that i took in middle school for high school credit were pass/fail, so you got the class credit but it didn’t count towards your gpa

Varies from school to school.

I took 4 high school level classes in middle school with the understanding that would count in high school. However, the policy changed and none of my grades factored into my GPA or any of my credits towards the high school graduation requirement. The only thing they did was they got me out of freshman year classes (and it gives me a little more flexibility in constructing my schedule, which is nice).

However, some of my friends from middle school, who went to another high school, had their credits transferred. Some are even graduating as juniors next year.

It depends. The high school courses I took in middle school are on my transcript but not part of my GPA. Ask.

Like the others said, it depends on your school’s policy. My school system DOES factor high school credits from middle school into your high school GPA, but you are allowed to retake those classes and get the middle school grades removed off your transcript if you so wish.

My school allows my high school courses taken at my middle school years, and the UC’s “grandfather” the middle school courses as part of the A-G requirements. In other words, if you took French I and II as well as Algebra I in middle school, they will count towards your high school classes.

My school lists them with “credit” instead of a letter grade, though.
