B+

^
Actually, the OP was obviously a ■■■■■.

LOL.

true story: how much would a B+ in Calc 3 (taken at local university) hurt for HYPSM etc?

not a ■■■■■

Hah, I come back 2 days later and this guy is still at it. You claim to have a life/and not (i don’t even know whether you think you do or not at this point). No one here is on your side. We don’t hate on overachievers. My best friend is an overachiever and just received his ED to West Point. I don’t hate on him, I’m in fact very proud of him and I hope he goes very far in life. You on the other hand, while maybe an overachiever, are a complete ass to others simply because you look down on them. Keep your rude thoughts to yourself and if you think you’re so special, again keep it to yourself. Your comments are disgusting even to random people on the internet. You ask how we would know you’re a jerk if we don’t know you in real life? Studies from psychologists show that on the internet more than anywhere else, people’s true personalities, thoughts, ideas come out. It is clear on here whether or not you show it in the real world what your true intentions are. Again what happened to “This will be my last post in this topic”. From my count, you posted another 5 times after that. Personality and charisma get you far in life. A diploma from princeton does not. Proof? Sorry I have 6 cousins that went to ivy leagues. Did they all graduate as future CEO’s of microsoft? No. They’re your average people working in a city and living in a home raising their family. I dunno how many you have but you clearly know nothing about the college process here in America.

@Listzt- a B+ won’t hurt you too bad. My friend got into stanford last year with a 3.6/2080. Colleges look past those numbers and see you for what you are. Alot of people have high stats such as 4.0s and 2350s. What separates the ones that get in and the ones that don’t? Talent, character, and a humble mindset.

I never really understood why people wanted to go to those schools. Is it the thoguht that perhaps going to an elite school you will end up with a better future? More money? A better wife? Lovely children? None of those hold true for people that graduate from elite schools. What would you do with so much money anyways? Rub it in peoples noses as a jerk and buy nice clothes when there are kids in Africa that would do anything just to chew on a grain of bread? This world is disgusting. Super rich people like Bill gates spend money on charity and other selfless works. Simply try to enjoy everyday of your life because honestly, you don’t know what could happen.

^
I’m not even going to try to make sense of that word salad. I read the first two sentences and stopped reading. You completely lack reading comprehension. You’re a dumbass.

It’s very easy to read… First sentence is there to insult you for still posting on this thread. Second sentence is there to try and understand your two faced thinking. You first said, “I won’t deny I have no life.” Then you said “By no life, I mean I don’t waste my time partying”, implying that you now think you have a life. So do you have a life or not? I’m not sure you know yourself at this point.

Why do you continue to fight back when everyone here clearly knows you are wrong? You’re dragging on a long lost battle.

^
I’m wrong? I didn’t say anything offensive to me. If you can show me where I said something was offense, then I’ll concede.

You’re just a D-Bag, as is suspected from your profile.

You don’t see anything offensive? I thought the whole meat of this thread was 10+ people telling you how much of a jerk you are for your attitude towards schools like Temple. Perhaps you don’t find it offensive, but others do. So stop being so selfish and be considerate towards others. Anyways, that’s already been discussed. And thanks for going through my profile. Calling me a stalker? Hypocrite.

why do I keep clicking on this thread? All it does is make me sad.
I should have listened to Karver’s last thread

I feel like the worst part about Saugus is not that he looks down on people, but that he looks down on people without having actually accomplished anything worth talking about.

“My ECs are way better”

Shut up. There is no “better” in this area. The activities you do should reflect who you are, not the laundry list for some prestige college. I bet when you write your personal statement the so spectacularly amazing colleges you apply to will realize that you just did those waaay better EC just to get to college, not because they represent who you are. Then they’ll deny you.

^ This.

People on CC really need to get out of this mentality. As long as you’re doing it and you’re passionate about it, I don’t see any reason why it wouldn’t be considered ‘good’ for you.

I honestly think the whole passion and ECs thing is kind of overblown. At the most competitive colleges, it’s going to come down to achievement rather than “passion.” Of course, to make any significant achievements in a particular EC realm, one would have to devote a lot of time to it, which is likely the result of at a least some sort of interest in it. But the idea that passion alone is substantial enough to balance out a weak GPA is simply not true. However, @OP, a B+ will not give you a weak GPA.

And, guys, seriously, stop bickering. This is an online forum. What someone says on here has no bearing on the worth of your college/grades/intelligence/whatever. And getting in a fight on a HS forum is just a little silly.

Learn to read, dumbass. I explained multiple times that Temple isn’t inferior, but it’s WAY easier to get into than top schools. A 3.0 will not get you into top schools.

Unlike you, I live in reality.

Yeah, you have to love the double standard here.

I won’t deny that a 3.0 will not get you into an elite school (unless you’re a recruited athlete, then that all changes). I wonder what kind of reality you’re living in if you want to go to those schools you listed with a D on your transcript. Some reality you live in.

^
Nice ad-hominem, A-hole. This thread isn’t about me. Why don’t you stay on topic?

Fact is, I didn’t say anything offensive or unrealistic. You just like to fight on the internet.

Oh, and I just called. They ignore the lower grade.

Thou art all sinners against Aero and all of CCism for thy breaching of His first commandment:

None of thee who hath criticized others shall earn salvation without repenting!
Aero only has allowed this argument to continue here rather than in Chances because He is merciful. Thank Him!

Saugus,

I think that, as a sophomore in high school, you should be more humble.

Saugus, you need to chill the f out. You need to stop looking down on people because they have different aspirations than you. You’re not better than anyone else because you memorized stuff in school. Although I know you’re going to completely miss my point and call me a dumbass.

Edit: I checked your profile. You like RuneScape. Your posts are now void.

^

Shut the F up and read. Nobody’s looking down on anybody.
