I plan on getting a degree in economics, from UC Davis. After that I would like to get a degree that will allow my to enter the field of finance. So is it viable for my to get the economics degree, then go to another school to get my masters in finance?

Sorry if it has been asked before, I tried searching but could not find anything.

yes, but your econ degree will get you a at least some interviews in finance, getting the job is of course up to you (the difference btw a finance degree and econ degree for getting that first job is minimal at best)

Agree with above (I am also an economics major intending to apply for an MBA). If you look at the composition of the student body of the top 25 B-schools, between 15-20% of them received their undergraduate degree in economics.
