BA MT upcoming junior looking to transfer in January 2011---possible?

My daughter completed 2 years at a BA MT progam ,(quite successfully, including a semester studying at a London MT conservatory) and is taking the fall semster off for personal/health reasons. She is considering the possibilty of not going back to her school. Instead she wants to investigate any options she might have with other programs. We know that even if they take a transfers most BFA's want you to start over. But what about another BA program, although there are few. What if she went into a BA that is not in MT, but rather acting (thinking Emerson as an example). Does any one have any insight suggestions? I am also thinking if she tries (and they allow) auditions for a Spring semester tranfer maybe she'd have a little more going for her in that some students may have dropped out? Just thinking...appreciate any thought, suggestions etc. Thanks!

I sent you a private message…

I imagine that it would be easier to transfer from BA to BA as opposed to BFA. Definitely check with each school. But, she should prob. apply as a spring transfer admit. Then audition as once she is attending. I’m pretty sure some colleges have special transfer audition dates in late spring early fall for those already attending. Of course, there are no guarantees but it sounds like she already has a lot of experience/training which can only be an advantage. Hope this helps.
