I recently got into a full time job that said "Bachelors Degree Preferred" under qualifications. I'm currently still a student in the last year and may need another year to complete the degree. I have 2 years of job experience in the field. Would not having the degree disqualify me once they complete a background check? Or would they overlook it since it's preferred and I have the experience?

If they offered you the job without a bachelor’s degree, then it shouldn’t be a problem, as long as you can manage school and a full time job simultaneously. My concern would be time management (scheduling your classes around a full time job), rather than whether or not they’ll rescind the offer since they should have already known you didn’t have a degree when they hired you.

If they think you have your degree, for whatever reason, then that could be a big problem. But as long as your application, resume, and interview were all honest and apparent, then they should know you don’t have a bachelor’s degree yet and hired you in spite of that. If the job offer was contingent on you getting your degree before starting, then that should have been worked out beforehand.

But really, the people you should be asking this is the company who hired you.
