If i'm really sucking it up doing pre-med with my biology major... and i'm not getting accepted to a med school. What are my back up careers i can persue with a major in biology or biomedical sciences?

You raise a good issue for premeds. Do they study biology because it is the easiest way to meet the premed requirements or do they have an intrinsic interest in the subject matter and would like to make a career in it. If you like medicine and biology, there are many ways (some of the very creative to use your bioogy background). If you really love science, I would recommend going for a Ph.D. in biology and doing biomedically-related research. If you are interested in health policy and public health, get a M.P.H. If you, like being a professional, consider dental school or some other helping profession, e.g. clinical psychologist. Other options could be teaching high school biology.

If you want to utilize your background in biology, you can combine it with many other professions, ranging from business (in the pharmaceutical and biotech sectors, invesment firms, venture capital; law (particularly patent and environmental law) to non-profits with a health emphasis to journalism with a health/medical background. I've seen people with bachelors' degrees and some even with M.D.s make career shifts into all of the foregoing areas.

A piece of advice to premeds. I would recommend majoring in a field in college that you enjoy studying. If it happens to be biology, that is great, and hopefully you can apply it to some other career if necessary. Otherwise, pick a subject you enjoy while meeting your premed requirements.
