So I am currently in high school and working on my application for Fall 2017. My goal is to get into Mccombs’ marketing program, but if that doesn’t work out, what would be my best bet as a backup? I really want to pursue marketing, so I don’t want to get a bullsh*t education degree if I have no interest in ever being a teacher. My GPA is 94.2143 (about a 3.8 on the 4 point scale) and I am very involved with my school (Student Council, NHS, sports, etc.). Also my SAT is 1470 and ACT is 32
I was thinking about putting communications as my backup because that can tie into marketing but I don’t know much about Moody.
Why insult education majors? I don’t get it.
Here is a link to the degrees for Moody. I found it by Googling “Moody Communications Degrees”

Advertising and Public Relations will have a lot of overlap with Marketing. You can also add a Business Foundations Certificate.
I’m not insulting education majors, I just hate when people apply into education JUST so they can be at UT. This happens all the time at my school because people want to go to UT so bad and they think education would be the easiest school to get into.
My brother is in their education program because he actually wants to pursue it, and I think its stupid that someone who doesn’t even care about an education degree potentially could have taken his spot.
Advertising, Human Dimensions of Organizations, or Public Relations.
I agree with what you’re saying, @kmlehane. People apply for COLA and Education just to get in, taking spots away from kids who really want to get a degree from those colleges
