Bad ACT Okay GPA

I am going into my senior year of High School and my parents are really concerned for my ACT grade. I currently have a 19 but plan on taking it again in September and october. My GPA is around 3.2 (my school doesn't calculate it so that is my findings). I do alot of out of school activities. I'm looking at some state schools, art schools and liberal art schools. I just want to know if it's possible for me to get into a school i want with the ACT grade i have... and how to convince my parents of it. I would like to raise my ACT score to a 24, but I'm not to sure that is possible (I'm a HORRID test taker).
Feedback would be amazing! THanks!

It would be helpful to know what schools you are interested in. You could probably look at their common data sets to see if getting in with a 19 ACT is possible. (just google the name of the school and common data set - easy to find).

Do the art schools all require ACT scores? (not my area). Also, there are test-optional schools to consider.

Thanks for the help!
If it helps anymore these are the list of schools I’m looking at.
-Hunter
-School of the Museum of Fine Arts
-SVA
-Pitzer
-FIT
-Oberlin (i know this one is most likely a reach school)

I’m not an expert, but have you considered the SAT? (do the schools on your list accept it?)
