In your opinion, which colleges/universities are located in the worst town/city?

University of Minnesota--Morris

I'm saying this right now, anyone who says Temple gets slapped. I'm so sick of hearing that crap...

Temple, hit me!

Williamstown...

Clark does itself no favors being in Worcester...

Yale, Cornell (mainly the weather and the isolation), Pomona, the rest of the Claremonts, USC, U West Virginia, the list goes on...

UND...what is actually there?

theres no U West Virginia, its WVU
but its in the best city in west virginia (morgantown) so it cant get any better

ajr, Charleston, WV

Notre Dame (South Bend)

New Haven is the worst college "town" hands down.

Although there are plenty of bad ones out there for all the rural campuses.

Troy NY (where RPI is)
That place is awful

Sorry about the WVU mistake...but Morgantown is still terrible. Just go to college in Pittsburgh. Its only an hour or less away, and its much much better.

U Penn doesn't have such a great one
Princeton's town is soooo small
Heard Duke's town can get dangerous
Dartmouth is located in middle of nowhere
St.Louis town ranked most dangerous city in US
I thought Brown's town was bad

ledzep,

New Haven a terrible college town? Are you kidding? New Haven is great! Now Storrs (UConn), that IS terrible . . . there is NO town.

Second RPI (Albany)
My son wound up hating Philadelphia.
I'm not a big fan of Syracuse.
UNTx (Denton)

I'll second Durham, NC (Duke) . . . although Chapel Hill and Raleigh aren't far away and they both have a lot to offer.

If you think some of those college town are bad, you should visit some of the SUNY schools. Most of in just miserable locations.

OH, I totally forgot SUNY-Potsdam and SUNY-Binghamton. Just thinking about it makes me "shiver" in apprehension.
