I decided to enroll in Elementary Arabic I through dual enrollment at a community college. I took it online because I had spent the summer at a 3 week immersion program where we learned up to Intermediate Arabic I, so I assumed I would be able to handle it. However, the teacher is an older gentleman who isn't very technologically savvy. He just sends us emails of him babbling and telling us to read the book chapters and do the drills. No teaching, or lessons or anything. 3/4 of the students dropped the course, but I can't because it is dual enrollment. We took the midterm, and he never posted the grades or mentioned anything about it. He sent us an email today saying that we would have our final this week and that we should have memorized 100 vocab words and the grammar in the book (he has never mentioned any of this before today's email). I am so scared that I'm going to get my final grade and it's going to be very bad. All our grades are just the midterm and the test. It's going to bring down my GPA and the only way I can keep it off my college transcript is by paying $500 for it! Is there anyway I can get out of this? or any advice?

Please? Any advice?

That’s what you get for taking arabic bro. Shoulda took a real language like German or Russian or Ebonics or somethin’.

First, see if you can ask him privately to see your midterm grade. If that fails, since you’re dual-enrolling, maybe ask your supervisor to get in touch with him and ask him about it. Tell him or her about your situation. I think they would understand.

Study as hard as you can right now for the final, just review over the vocabulary words and grammar as best as you can. You’re in an unfortunate situation, but it’ll work out.

Pay the $500 if it doesn’t work.
