Bad Freshman and Sophomore year, Good Junior Year... Will Chapman Look Past This?

Ok so my freshman and sophomore grades suck. Frosh GPA (2.7), Soph GPA (2.8). However, I'm currently a Junior and have worked really really hard this year and my GPA is now 3.5. I also see no reason why my senior GPA shouldn't be the same or higher. Will Chapman notice my improvement? Or will they just see my current cumulative GPA (2.8) and reject me on the spot?

I'm hoping to get into Dodge's Creative Producing program and am very involved in my town's film community. As well as film, I'm also very, very involved in other extracurriculars (seriously it's ridiculous how many extracurrulars I do).

I'm not sure what my SAT/ACT scores will be like yet and I know I can get excellent teacher reccomendation letters.

Do I have any chance of getting into Chapman?

Thanks!

Chapman, especially Dodge College, doesn’t solely focus on grades. Dodge College wants creative students, storytellers - students who have passion and ambition. Either way, post your EC’s so we can assist you properly.

This year alone I’m involved in:
-Yearbook,
-Gay-Straight Alliance,
-Playgoers After-School Class,
-Model United Nations,
-I’m involved in my schools political group (SICA),
-Dance,
-I made an Anti-Tobacco film that was shown on the Seattle Public Schools TV channel and will be shown throughout the school district,
-I’m on the jury for the Seattle International Film Festival,
-I’m going to be participating in a musical this summer,
-I’m going to be getting a job assisting with rehersals at a local theatre this summer.

I also plan to:
-Run for student senate,
-Start volunteering with my towns local AIDS alliance,
-I also applied to be on a Nordstrom teen fashion board and will find out if I made it on later in the month.

I also did many activities freshman and sophomore year and plan to do just as many senior year.

Those are some good E.C’s but they are too common, I mean they will still aid your application (to Chapman) but they are common. A lot of people have done those E.C’s, you want something to set you aside from the “regular group”. Try getting something unorthodox :

-I also applied to be on a Nordstrom teen fashion board and will find out if I made it on later in the month. This is fantastic and I hope you get it, it will definitely set you aside and increase your chances.

Good luck!
