My Freshman year so far has been very rocky, as I am really struggling to get an A in biology.
Grades:
Geometry: 90
French: 86
Biology: 82
Global: 90 (honors course)
Latin: 97
Band: 98
English: 90
GPA: 90.94 (weighted)
These grades are through 3 quarters, though i still do have another quarter to go and final exams which count 20% of my grade. I am really struggling with biology as i only got one test above 90 and few in the 80’s, but a lot in the 70’s and 60’s. My hope at the end of this year was to get into chemistry honors for next year and Algebra II H, but that seems not to be the case with these types of grades. I study hard, but I can’t get the result as i was good with science in middle school getting a lot of grades in the 90’s. My success hasn’t translated as my grades are falling, from an 87 1st quarter grade in biology to a 78 2nd and 3rd quarter grade. I study a lot, but I can’t get the grades on tests. Those honors classes seem impossible now with those grades but I will be taking AP World next year. I need an 85 to get into Regular Chemistry, which does seem possible. I really need help and am panicking a lot about my grades, as I am Asian, want to swim for an Ivy league school for college and all the other Asians are really ahead of me. This stresses me out since I won’t be able to take many honors courses although I still have the chance in 11th and 12th grade. Will these bad science, french and math grades take me out of consideration for Ivy league schools. I don’t know what I want to study yet in college, but will these bad grades take me out of a good science/math program? What should I do? Please help!
