Bad Midterm Grade

A bad midterm will not hurt my chances to get into an elite school, assuming that I pull the grade up to A- range, correct?

A similar topic has recently been posted, and as I've jsut gotten a whopping C+ on a middie in a class that I am otherwise doing pretty well in, I thought I would seek confirmation on the issue.

Will thye take a look @ my junior report card, or just the transcript (which, as far as I know @ my school, has only final grades on it)?

if you have a C+ (and assuming your school takes the semester grades and averages them to get a final grade) how are you possibly going to bring a C+ up to an A-, unless you get a 100 the next semester, or if your school has a different definition of what an A- is.
I'm assuming the C+ is your semester average, and not the grade on the midterm/1st semester exam.

I was talking about a midterm grade (it is possible to get it up; I ran out of time on my math final last year and got a C on it, but still managed an A- overall in the class).

My school never tells you indivdual semester grades, but the only grade that they use in class ranking (per exempla) is the final grade, which is a result of 80% term grade (20% for each quarter) and 20% for midterm/final (10% for each).

The reason I ask this is that I am not a very good test taker when it ocmes to cumulative math (lame, I know), and am hoping that I can still manage to get into some colleges; if they don't see my bad midterms, I'm sure my regular final grades will be fine.

As long as you have a good final grade, you should be ok. So you'll be ok, as long as you can get that A-.
