<p>Just to confirm, Suze, wouldnt that make the median of non special admits roughly equal to the 75th percentile of stats like SATs? Because if you lop off the bottom 50%, then you are left with the 75th percentile, which turns into the median. 790 sounds a little high for a median for MIT for non special admits.
I've read elsewhere that it's more like 40% special admits.
Crap, makes me want to retake a 740, for cornell COE though I've got double 8s for math I + II.
Another way to look at it: look at SAT I avg's, and look at that as a baseline for SAT II scores. But, SAT II scores are often higher, like for SAT II Math IIC. Two kids in my class who got in the 2100s on the SAT got 800 on us history.</p>
