Bad SAT II's, applying to top schools...please give advice!

Are you SERIOUS? What planet do you and the rest of the people on this thread live on? Those are AMAZING scores! Anything above 700 IS GREAT. It won't hurt your chances at all, you should absolutely still apply!

God, this thread is why everybody makes fun of CC kids.

750 is bad? Uck, you guys are RIDICULOUS.

Everything I've read convinces me that SAT scores are far more important than subject test scores. So if those are good, you should relax. I agree that these subject scores are very good, nonetheless.

One mom on CC stated that her D got into Yale with one subject test in the 600 hundred. Now, I don't know the rest of the application but at least one proof that SAT subject test is not as important.

Wow thanks everyone for the advice! I def. feel better now..

The reason I worried in teh first place is taht I'm an Asian male, and the competition is fierce. Are my Sat II's good enough for an Asian??

Colleges won't look at scores to differentiate between Asians otherwise that Jiang Li guy would have gotten into Princeton.

omg those scores are gonna help you if anything, not hurt you, u did awesome man, chill out

This post makes me sick.

Go ahead, retake it. Spend lots and lots of money. Take it a hundred times. Who cares?

I have a different opinion, as a parent of kids who attended-attend schools the level of Stanford and Columbia.
Of course those are very fine scores.
The problem is, with schools that accept 10% or so of applicants, they will not help your application. Just one area where you will not stand out, leaving fewer areas in which you have the opportunity to make a positive impression.
Where do you stand out? They take maybe one of four or five students who are vals, so that isn't good enough in itself.
I think you need to think about giving them reasons to take you, not just keep you under consideration.
