1) I accidentally sent a 610 in World History to Harvard although I got a 4 on the AP. If I send better SAT II scores, will H ignore this one in making decision?
2) My best SAT IIs are 780 USH and 690 Math I. Math's going to be a problem, but will a bad SAT II score like that prevents my chance from H?

There are exceptions to every “rule” of admissions there are. One of my friends got a 2 in Italian. So they won’t prevent your file from admission. That said, if a 690 on Math I is one of your two best scores, your admission seems unlikely. Most people here could probably score 700+ on Math II. But a 780 in USH is really good, so clearly you can score really high on subject tests. Could you retake any and do better, so that you could send those instead? I would not pick World History to retake, since they will already see that you can do history, but one of the other ones?

Math I has a harsher curve, do admission folks notice that?

Should I retake a 710 in US History?

If you get a 690 on Math1, you probably don’t belong at harvard, just saying…

So do you, Greedisgood?

Since almost all Harvard students, even the ones who “aren’t good at math,” are able to take and do pretty well on Math II, the fact that you are taking Math I at all bodes poorly for your chances. I say this regardless of your Math I score. As I said, it won’t single-handedly disbar you from admittance, and there are exceptions to every rule, but this is a weak part of your application.

GreedIsGood, do you go here? Are you a rising freshman at the moment? Or are you younger/bound elsewhere?

Don’t read too deeply into my post (for the record, I’m a rising senior).

A 610 on World History means you got a lot of problems wrong. I didn’t take AP World History and my native language isn’t even English but I still managed to get an 800. Sorry if this sounds mean, but you probably should apply to many schools, and not just the tippy-top ones.
