I was accepted into Cornell with a 4.0. This semester it looks like I will be getting 3-4 B’s and the rest A’s (damn you senioritis). Is it possible that Cornell will take back their offer of admission because of my drop in grades?
No.
No, unless you start getting C’s.
I am also geting a few Bs… . Someone from my school got a C- last year and he was called for a “review”. He explained that he chose to spent time visiting colleges to make a good decision – and this impact his participation grade in that particular course. I think they may rescind only if you have absolutely no justification – and we got C’s or below.
I talked with one of the admission officers about this topic. She told me that if a student gets one C (it was a high C which we were discussing), this would not necessarily be grounds for revocation. However, if a student begins to get multiple Cs, she said, or drops below that, they get very worried and are likely to revoke the offer of admission. In short, keep your grades at B and above, if you can. If circumstances prevent this, they’re likely to understand.
This question gets asked way too many times.
Fortunately, there are hundreds of users here to help answer it, so bemoaning the people who keep this site active by asking questions is kind of pointless.
No way.
