I’m currently a high school sophomore with a weighted GPA of 3.87. I didn’t do so well freshmen year (B+ on APWH, B+ hon geo and B+ on hon english) and struggled to pull my GPA first sem of sophomore year (B hon chem, B+ hon spanish 4, B research in chem, B+ hon eng). It’s honestly killing me and I’m wondering if I pull up my GPA over the next three semesters, will sem 1 of sophomore year severely affect me? BTW I’m aiming for Ivies (dream: Yale).
If you are consistently getting that GPA over freshman and sophomore year, perhaps aim for a lot of schools with that avg. GPA instead of ivies and the like? Transcripts are the most important factor in the admissions process, and should also be an important factor in your college selection process.
@guacamole1234 Sorry you’re dreaming if you consistently get those grades
If these grades are consistent, then you need to consider other schools besides the Ivies. Everyone wants to go to an Ivy, but you need to improve these grades if you want to.
You need to be getting all As to have an above 0% chance for Ivies. Unless you a rich boi
