So I took the May subject tests in Chemistry and Us History and I thought I did pretty well on both. But I ended up doing really badly in chemistry and okay in History. I got a 650 in Chemistry and 730 in History. What will happen now that I screwed up the Chemistry exam? I am a junior this year and the only chance I have to retake it is in the next school year in September. I want to apply early action to Brown so will I be able to take it in time and still manage to apply? Is it too late to cancel the scores? Are my chances for low-tier Ivies such as Brown and UPenn ruined because of this score? What should I do?
I recommend you either re-take the chemistry or take a mathematics subject test at the next available test date, hoping for a 700+ score. The 730 history is good.
It would help to know what your SAT/ACT score is.
I don’t think the next test date is September, I always thought it was October…? Yes, you’ll be able to take it in time (I assume). Yes, it’s too late to cancel the scores, but you don’t have to send them, so no, your chances aren’t ruined yet. You should strive to improve your score, take another subject test, and improve the other areas of your application.
My ACT score is 32, but I retook it in June. I took the Math subject test in June as well so I am not sure of my score.
