Bada

Is anyone going to BADA this summer? My D was just accepted, with a scholarship, and is thrilled. She will be going, along with a few classmates from UCLA.

Has anyone gone?

My daughter auditioned on Sunday… they told her she would not find out for a couple weeks. When did your daughter audition? :/

It turns out she did get admitted- she got an email about an hour ago! Still waiting on other summer application results, but this looks good. I’m also interested in knowing if others have gone. My daughter (precollege) would be in the Midsummer Conservatory Academy. I think chrissyblu’s daughter would be in the college program.

Yes. My D is in the college program, as she is at UCLA.

My son is attending Midsummer at Oxford in July too. He’s very excited.

My D attended this last summer. It was worthwhile and she made some great friends. My wife, myself and other daughter went to Oxford to pick her up afterward. We only had about a week to spend but we saw quite a lot. Oxford is truly ancient in places. Harry Potter fans are going to love visiting the various campuses. We also saw much of the Cotswolds, Bath, and the south coast. Even a quick stop at Stonehenge before finishing up in London. London choices would be Westminster Abbey, London Tower, British Museum, Tate Modern and Globe Theatre. Underground Tube system excellent. Thanks for letting me share a great family memory.

Has anyone attended the Midsummer Conservatory, or have all of yours attended the program for college students?

BADA: Mid Summer in Oxford’s Program (College Students) Is anyone planning on participating this summer? I would love to hear some specifics on the program from recent participants…How many college students attend? From all over? Is it rewarding? Please feel free to email me.

glassharmonica (or others), I don’t know if you’re still watching this thread, but our daughter is weighing BADA (Midsummer Conservancy) vs Brown Theatrebridge this summer and we’re looking for anyone with experience with either program.

Many Thanks!

COtheatre, my daughter ended up not going to BADA, so I’m afraid I haven’t got any advice for you.

My S attended BADA’s Midsummer Conservatory last summer and had an awesome time. He made lifelong friends and the program is second to none in preparing for the rigors of drama school, imho. His 3 weeks were spent soaking up everything that the instructors taught. I believe it is the reason that he has a final call in May at Guildhall, been accepted to LAMDA and waiting for results to RADA and Drama Centre London. He has also been accepted to NYU Tisch. All that being said, I think it would be a great opportunity.

This is my 1st post and I hope that it helps someone!

mommadrama, congrats on your son’s acceptances. Keep us posted on where he decides to go! That’s so cool that you believe the BADA experience has positively impacted his acceptances. LAMDA is superb. My own son is heading off to Royal Conservatoire of Scotland this summer and I’m hoping the UK schools will be a strong possibility for him.

connections, thank you. My son has decided to attend LAMDA this fall even though we are still waiting for two more results. He just had a wonderful feeling after his audition and they called him a few days later and offered him a place. Congratulations to your son. He will have a wonderful time this summer!
