Sorry for the blatant advertisement, but I am an employee of the Badger Herald (one of the two daily newspapers on the UW campus) and wanted to let you all know we will be hosting two informational meetings this fall for students interested in getting involved:

Tuesday, Sept. 8 at 5 p.m.
Wednesday, Sept. 9 at 5 p.m.

Both will be held at the Herald Office, 326 W. Gorham St. (above Silver Mine Subs and Mad Hatter) and we encourage all those interested in writing news, opinion, arts and sports, as well as those interested in photography/video and online content to attend.

If anyone has any questions about the Herald (or even the Daily Cardinal), feel free to post them here or PM me. The Herald is an amazing organization, and I invite anyone interested to come check us out!

Some still remember the BH as a reactionary right wing rag. Is the estate of Wm F Buckley demanding it’s $ back? The last few years the BH has even seemed more liberal than the DC-how things change.

Barrons-it’s crazy to think the things these newspapers have seen! And this coming school year is actually our 40th anniversary as a paper-that’s pretty old for the “new” newspaper on the block!

For anyone interested in a reminder when the dates of the meetings come up, here is a facebook group:

Down and out Dog was a comic strip by James Sturm in the DC that was raunchy and hilarious. Late 1980’s. Sturm teamed up with Tim Keck of The Onion fame and started the Stranger weekly in Seattle.
