Bama full tuition scholarships really that easy?

the student may be right…and he may be wrong. The school may ask for a long-lead-time, but may also be able to provide a transcript quickly for an urgent purpose.

While I know they will need an official transcript does the student have a copy of it that isn’t “official”? Maybe he could send that one in and then send the real one later?

I actually have a copy of his transcripts that his mom gave me, so he should be able to do this, but Bama says official transcripts. Not sure he can call since he’s in school all day tomorrow. At any rate, he seems set on just letting it ride. He submitted the app.; he had his SAT scores sent; he added Bama to the list of schools to get transcripts via Naviance. I think it will just be what it will be at this point.

He is a realist. He didn’t apply to any Cal State schools because he said if he doesn’t get into a good school that he can afford (he’s applying to five reaches, one match and two safeties), he’ll just go to community college and transfer.

Kid is indeed a realist, I know a couple of those and it all works out in the end. Kid will be fine. Good job in helping out the family sbjdorlo

At my Ds high school a request for transcript needs to be made 7-10 days in advance (for an official transcript, which is what the colleges want). Unofficial transcripts can be printed out right away by the GC but are useless for admissions offices. Plus, we need to pay $5.00 per transcript request. It used to be free…:frowning:

Sometimes a little advance planning is required. My D made an early request in October for transcripts to be sent to all 8 schools she was considering. It set me back $40 but at least it was one less thing to worry about if the ED didn’t come through.

And I agree with @siliconvalleymom, I’m not beneath bribing with goodies!

For RD applications, all students needed to get their requests in by Dec 8 due to the upcoming holiday break. They are very busy in the guidance offices these days. Glad my D went ED and was accepted! Phew
