Bama graduation gift ideas

I bought it at a little shoe store here - it’s wrapped up or I’d share the brand. It seems like I’ve been seeing houndstooth everywhere - either it’s in style this year or I’m just noticing it more!

Momofonly1: Houndstooth is in style. My son’s girlfriend has a houndstooth jacket she wears during the fall and winter. My son’s best bud bought him a houndstooth hat for Christmas.

Okay, now I’ve seen mention of football game attire for girl. As mom of son, who considers “dressed” to be any shirt and shorts or pants. HS games were colored t-shirts with marker writing on them. (The girls of course had them stencilled/silk-screened/bling-ed).

He’s so minimalist and a non-shopper, I’m afraid to leave everything to him. After wearing uniforms for 4 years I think his plan doesn’t include anything past t-shirts.

socal,

ALL sorority girls (and some independents) dress up for football games. Fraternity boys do as well (Khakis, dress shirt, tie, blue blazer)

But rarely if ever have I seen independent boys dress up. Shorts and a t-shirt are perfectly fine for a football game. Just tell him to wear some sunscreen and drink lots of fluids because it will be HOT.

I know the Penn st game and the UF game will be at night. Hopefully the opener will be as well. Otherwise they’ll be pulling people out left and right from heat stroke.

Socal2bama: I do recommend some polos – just in case he has a meeting where the attire is business casual. As for football games, my son wears T-shirts (Bama, of course, unless it’s 36 degrees and sleeting and then it’s something warmer).

But my son does know a group of students who “paint” themselves the letters for Roll Tide or Bama. If your son is interested in doing that, I can put him in touch with my son. You never know. The group might need that extra “L.”

Socal, how about a Bear Bryant houndstooth hat with that t-shirt & shorts ensemble?

Having a Sorority Girl we have had fun getting game day dresses…

If you type in Gameday dresses on your search engine you will find a wide assortment of dresses available. Some company’s divide by teams, and others by team colors!

Several of the dress shops & the Shirt Shop around Tuscaloosa also have dresses! Have fun!

Looks like we’ll both be happy. Casual for him and I have backup for why I’m sending him with polos and button-down. I did pick up the Alabama button-down from “overstock” - thanks for the info. He’s not much of a hat wearer (a lot of curly hair), but I was pondering getting a houndstooth beanie, now its a definite.

One day my D boyfriend jokingly said we’ll be seeing S on tv with painted stomach. I think that’s something he’ll have to work up to, but you never know.

I gave a crimson/white tie to 2 HS graduates and they loved it-both are going to Bama-bought on Amazon -wild ties is seller/website also I think under $20
