Bank of America Student Leaders 2014

does someone mind reading my application answers, and give me some feedback. i want sure if they were strong enough. Ill pm you, if you reply to my comment.

@toesockshoe Sure!

Does anyone know which dates the internships usually are? I’'m planning a vacation to France and I want to make sure the two don’t conflict. Also @engineering2015, my confirmation of application receipt said the decisions come out no later than April 30.

Anyone else apply for the Jacksonville District?

Is there anyone from the Denver district?

Do you guys think we’ll get notified in March or April? I’m hoping March!

Hey! I just learned that I have an interview for the program. Does anyone else have this? Can I get some tips from past applicants/finalist? Thanks.

What market are you from? I haven’t gotten an interview :(

@166jenny sorry I forgot to tag you in my post! So what market are you from? I wonder if every market has interviews…

@engineering2015 Not every market has interviews and each market sends out decisions at different times!

@engineering2015 I’m from the Atlanta Market.

I just found out that I have an interview too! I’m from the East Bay market. Are there any tips from past participants?

Has anybody found out if they are accepted or not yet?!

I haven’t. I’m from the MD district (or DC district, I think it’s combined) I haven’t heard anything yet (which makes me worry, though I know they respond way into April, so we still have time)

Hi everyone, I also applied for BoA and I haven’t heard anything yet either. I’m from MN and I think MN is a relatively new addition (because I looked at older threads) so I’m not sure if there are interviews or not!

Do you think they consider the amount of service hours or content of essays more? I only had 190 hours of volunteer work, but my essays were probably an 8.5/10.

I think they’re looking for hard working individuals who play an active role in their community. I don’t think they’re looking for some “magic number” and saying “anyone who has over 200 gets in.” That being said, you should still have a fair amount (190 seems totally fine) and the essays should bring the activites that the hours are associated with to life. I think the essays matter way more because it’s their only method to get to know you and your passion for service. If you communicate that really well, they won’t care if you have a few less hours than the average person they accept because you obviously care and show initiative. That was a really long way of saying “Don’t worry about your 190 hours. As long as your essays are good, you have nothing to worry about.”

Thanks @coldra101!

I’m from the NJ market and I haven’t gotten an interview yet… For the people who got on interview, how do you find out? Also, how did they go @166jenny and @spiq26 (if you already had them)? I hope they went well!!

@ramenforlife It went well. It was laid-back and informal really. They told me that 300 people applied in my market and only the top 20 was chosen. Only 5 is picked for the internship. We find out if we got it in first two weeks of April.
