Is it an unknown number… I got a call in the morning but of course, I was in school. That would be a weird time to call though, so I guess not?

We were out of town on Monday…they left a voicemail on our home phone (which we didn’t listen to, oops!). When D didn’t return the call, they emailed a day or so later. The message was that she wanted to talk to D about her application. We assumed there was a question about something, or maybe that they were calling to set up an interview? What a nice surprise! D was annoyed at herself after the woman called her back on her cell phone…she said all she remember saying (over and over) was “Awesome!” and “Thank you!” It takes a lot to make this kid speechless!!!

Well, it’s rather competitive, even though it’s really vague on their website! I think the paid internship is real draw for us students – especially this year when we know summer work will be much more harder to find!

Congrats astrophysicsmom

has everyone who has been accepted into this program already been notified?
i’m getting quite nervous, i haven’t heard anything yet.

has anyone heard from Connecticut?

Wow, no one has heard of anything from San Francisco Bay Area yet…

I received notice this afternoon that I will be part of the Bank of America Student Leaders Program . I am proud that I will be one of five people representing Broward County, Fl. Congrats to all who tried. See You all in D.C,. And have a great summer.

I actually received noticed this afternoon and they called from a 305 so I believe you should get a call later this week. Good Luck. Hope you get it.

congratsssssss
do you know if it’s only certain regions where people have been notified?

innocentkid, I think it is. Each local branch has a local committee that reads the application from your regions and decides who to take. I think that every branch has a different date to meet and decide, but it has to be BY MAY 22. I believe you can call the 1-800 number on the Student Leaders login website and they can give you the contact information for your local branch. You can call them and just ask when decisions will be released for you location. Hope this helps and good luck!

Has anyone heard from Sacramento yet? Has anyone gotten a rejection letter or call yet? Because I’m getting really nervous! :(

I went through the posts of the acceptances… so far, cc’ers have heard from the following markets:

Broward County, FL
Charlotte, NC
Las Vegas, NV
Long Island, NY
Orlando, FL

If you’ve been called that you’re “in” from another market, please update the list.

Just curious…does anyone know where they will be working?

boys and girls club

^Ditto for the Orlando market.

Yeah, same here. I didn’t know if each market partnered with a different non-profit, but it seems that many are doing boys and girls club. Thanks for answering my question!

Thanks Rocker
I’ll be sure to look it up. I’ve been getting really nervous reading everyone’s “I JUST GOT A CALL” posts.

i’ll be working at cornell cooperative extension

do you work with other people who got accepted to the program?
or like solo

innocentkid70
I asked the lady that called me if the other people would work with me and what club I would work at and she said it depends on transportation and what part of the np sector we were interested in (working with the kids or more of the business aspect like marketing, etc.). She did say we were going to have a meeting before the internship started and that we were all going to be trained together. I’m sure it varies by market, but hopefully this helps. I know we are all kinda left wondering at this point…

Hey everyone–I applied to this internship and got rejected today. I want to know what BOA was looking for in a potential candidate, because although the details were extremely vague, it sounded like a cool opportunity and I wanted to get in. If anyone who got in could state their qualifications, that would be great!! This might also help those who might not know what to expect next year. Thanks so much, congrats to everyone who got in!!!
