<p>DD is coming from New Jersey. Anyone have suggestions as to what bank/ATM system the students at MU use? Should probably go with a national bank that might have a branch close to home back here in the Northeast so I could deposit emergency funds if needed. Thanks!!! DD arrives July 3 to start school on July 6.</p>

<p>US Bank is a very large bank and they have a branch right in the union. If you come for preview days, you will be able to open an account. They have ATMs in the union. They also have a very good on-line banking website. No worries with USB. Its a very good bank.</p>

<p>Really? I live in the sticks and 45 minutes from the nearest US Bank. I figured they had to be everywhere else–sorry about that.</p>
<p>US Bank is based in St Louis and has a strong Midwest presence…not so much elsewhere especially on the east coast.</p>
<p>Wells Fargo appears to have a location on Wisconsin Ave between 7th and 8th St which isn’t far from campus…looks to be your best choice.</p>
<p>Chase also has a presence in Milwaukee but you need to check with them to be sure you can deposit into an account in Milwaukee…they had some strange regions a few years back and my parents (in Ohio) couldn’t do a direct deposit into D’s account in Texas.</p>
<p>Thanks for all the info. I looked into USB like everyone said and was hoping it would have a branch near our home to make it easy to deposit $$$. Unfortunately, the closest USB branch in NJ is an hour away. USB has almost no presence in NJ. 
The other options that have branches near us only have a branch at Marquette off campus (fairly far away, too). Think I will just have to use our credit union in North Carolina for her account and she can have access to a no-fee ATM just 1 block off campus. Thanks!</p>
<p>Try Chase, they have branches all over the Milwaukee area and a major office in downtown Milwaukee.</p>
<p>Did you get the letter from USB to new students. It was addressed to my son but hte letter said dear parents… It had options for depositing money into your student’s account if there is no US Bank in your hometown.</p>
