UMD Banking?

Hey! I'm attending Maryland in the fall and my current bank isn't present on campus. I know the major banks at Maryland are Chevy Chase, Bank of America, and Capitol One. If anyone who goes there has any recommendations as to which I should open an account with, it would be greatly appreciated!!

Capital One has a branch inside Stamp. D’s both kept their Bank of America accounts, since it’s the easiest to get money transferred from the Bank of Mom and Dad.

Haha awesome, thanks astrophysicsmom! Are there Bank of America ATMs right there in the Stamp?

I think the closest one is on Rt 1 (by the CVS). Now that D has a car, she can drive to onel

Oh okay! I don’t think I’ll be bringing my car to college with me, so I guess I’ll go with Capitol One. Thank you so much!

Wait until you get to campus, and you’ll most likely get something free from the branch at Stamp.

What do students who have accounts with wells fargo do. Where do they take cash out from without being charged

You could always open a (free) account at Capital One so you can use their ATM for free, and transfer money from your Wells Account to that one. D1 did that her first year at UMD when she didn’t have a car and didn’t want to walk to the Rt. 1 Bank of America ATM.

There is a Wells Fargo branch south of the university, about a mile or so down Route 1, on the east side of the street. I think that is the closest physical branch to the campus. The address is 6235 Baltimore Avenue [which is Route 1], Riverdale, MD.
