i was wondering, what are the oncampus/near campus banks available? i was going to open a bank account before i headed off to college hah :)

nice question cause I'm seriosuly about to go open one a little later this afternoon. When I was on campus the past couple times I noticed primarily Bank of America and a number of Chase but I'm not sure what the official on campus bank is.. hopefully will find out before I go later on today..

No official bank. Bank of America is common. Citizens has the most ATM's. There is also Sovereign.

Is there a commerce bank?

There are a bunch of Bank of Americas...http://www.bu.edu/dbin/infocenter/content/index.php?pageid=713&topicid=34

There are Century bank ATM's on the ground floor of Warren Towers, but I think Century only has branches in Massachusetts.

No Commerce. No Fifth and Third. The large, multi-state banks are: B of A, Citizens and Sovereign. That's pretty much it. Century is local.

And no Wachovia :(

I think I'm going Bank of America

Yeah I'm probably gonna go with Bank of America too..

u don't HAVE to go with a bank that has ATM machines on campus. i have wachovia, which doesn't have any ATM machines nearby, but i have a wachovia debit card. everytime i go to the shaw's supermarket, i just press the cashback button and withdraw the amount i need.

I got Bank of America too.
If you live out of state, it's probably the best (Citizens is a northeast thing) and Bank of America is just about everywhere.
I also know that for B of A, you can use them abroad in partnership with a lot of other Banks of [insert country here].

/end plug
