td is right on walnut street. i just opened my account a couple weeks ago. its really convenient too b/c its right by the gym.

just ask to close out your current bank account and get a check written with all your money. then open an account at td (or pnc w/e u like) and cosign with your parents, so they can deposit money for you at home if you run out

@moshimuncher - I’m not sure whether they (PNC and NC) even know that yet, but I’m sure that by the time you show up on campus in the fall you’ll be able to

What’s wrong with SFCU? I use them and they’ve worked well for my three years here so far. The account links to my Penn Card and works at all the on campus ATMs and they have a deal with PNC that lets me use PNC ATMs as well with no fee.

Plus your supporting a student run organization.

In my home city the only national banks with branchers are wells fargo, chase, and bank of america. I know wells fargo bought out wachovia but integration won’t be complete for at least another year and a half. Reading the boards I dont think the other two banks are convenient on campus.

I know it would be easier when a bank has locations at home and in college to facilitate money transferring, but is it probably is not necessary? Should I just plan to open a pnc account? Right now I bank at a local community bank.

thanks.

just open a pnc account, it’s a lot easier with respect to atm usage (no fees) and other banking privileges that you might need (check depositing, etc.)

Well, I was just wondering about the NC and PNC thing because there’s a lot of National City’s where I live now, and I wasn’t sure if it was something where NC customers can use PNC atms but PNC customers can’t use NC atms.

can’t you just get cash off your debit card? that’s about 3425346465453 times easier than an atm

UHS, I think BAC is opening up in the radian…

Yep, Bank of America is opening on campus soon.

Thanks…great. That’ll probably work out better for me even though it’s a little more inconvenient.

What’s the deal with SFCU…?

what’s td? is it the same as the one in canada?

yeah td = toronto-dominion banknorth
