Anyone else out there? I figured we should have a thread to support each other and be nervous and wait. Oh, the wait…

Congratulations! My daughter is doing IDP, but she submitted EA so that the college has everything before the seminar. Is anybody else doing IDP? Should we check to make sure they have everything a week ahead of time, or will they contact us if something is missing?

My son is submitting today; he is doing IDP. Also wondering if a call is necessary just to make sure everyting is in hand in time for the IDP deadline.

I just submitted my application for EA yesterday! Good luck to everyone applying. :)

I also have my interview scheduled for tomorrow on campus! Here’s hoping it goes well. I haven’t been so nervous in a long time.

GreatKidsMom, Did your son check “the check’s in the mail” for the fee? I think the registration fee we paid for IDP is supposed to cover it, but I sent them an email asking just in case. Haven’t heard back, but I imagine they’re a little busy today.

I wanted to apply early action but didn’t get all of my materials ready on time
good luck to everyone else who did though!

Oh my, I think we ended up double-paying the fee! We forgot that we’d already sent a check in.

Yes, you did! I heard back today and they said the IDP fee covers the application. Maybe you can get reimbursed? And they said applying EA was the right thing to do, so that’s a relief. Good luck to your son, if there’s one thing Bard’s lacking it’s more boys.

Good luck to your daughter too, danceclass! My S loves Bard; it’s one of his top 2 choices. And lack of boys is no huge problem for him–most of his close friends are girls (probably from being so involved with theater his whole life!)

I wouldn’t say the male/female population is that lopsided. Bard’s student profile lists males at 46%, females at 54%. In fact, this is probably typical for a lot of liberal arts college student populations.

I’m doing IDP also… auditioning, interviewing, and attending a seminar on Saturday! Can’t wait :D

sevenstars, Are you auditioning for the Conservatory? Good luck, tell us how it goes.

??? It’s around 45% male/55% female…which is the norm with most liberal arts colleges.

Sevenstars - good luck at your audition! Happy to hear you decided to apply.

My son is at IDP today. Thanks for the heads up about paying twice. We did also, so I just called and asked him to stop by the admission office to check on a refund. Also FYI he called last week to make sure his application was complete and they said they would call if it was not.
PS - He said he had a great day!

That’s so exciting, good luck to him!
I made the remark about Bard needing more boys because, when we took the tour, I made the remark to my daughter that we’d seen lots of boys on campus. Our tour guide overheard and said, yes, we’d seen every one of them. I guess from her point of view there were not enough to go around. So, the more boys the better, especially in the dance classes!

male/female ratio is pretty even, but then again, my view on it might be skewed because most of my friends here are guys. but the campus is certainly not deprived of them.

…Deprived of STRAIGHT boys, maybe, but not boys in general.

I think I was reacting to a comment that was made when we visited the campus as well…and possibly thinking of 1 or 2 LACs where there was more of an imbalance.

Good luck to all the IDP-ers!!!

I wish I could do IDP but sadly I live across the country and cannot get to campus before applying. Good luck to everyone doing it though :)

Has anyone gotten EA letters yet?

looking at the posts from last year they arrived ~december 13-15. omg.

but bard doesn’t give a specific date o.0
