Barnard College Class of 2023 ED

@HiToWaMom Hm. It says that we are required to upload our student W2 Form but I’ve never received one. So that 2017 student tax non filer form barnard provides should cover everything on the student side of things right?

(In that I never received income in 2017)

Correct, regarding non-filer form for student. But you have to submit all the parents’ financial information unless you are a full pay student.

Submitted my app a week ago!!! Does anyone know if not applying to financial aid give any more chance in admission? I figured not since Barnard gets its financial aid money from the government so they probably don’t care.

Barnard is need blind for admission, but like all private colleges, the bulk of their financial aid comes from their own funds, not from government sources. So yes, they do care, a lot, about managing their financial aid budget.

So no, coming from an economically privileged background won’t directly increase your chances for admission, but Barnard will be very happy to have your parents’ money if you do get accepted.

@misselise Hi! Can I message you privately regarding my application?

@vinylraincoat @misselise Hi! Do any of you guys have experience with the political science classes? Are they very difficult? I heard that polisci was on the same level of difficulty as the STEM classes.

Hi guys! I submitted my app for ED and I’m so so so incredibly nervous about hearing back. Anybody know what date in mid-December Barnard usually accepts on? And do we hear back by email or physical mail first? I’ve got my fingers crossed for all of us!!

hey does anyone know if Barnard typically accepts people who do the IB program? IB is a kinda hit or miss thing for some schools and idk if it’s valued during the admissions process or not. I have taken a lot of AP classes too but I feel like most colleges prefer AP over IB??? idk infwepfhpoehwp im so nervous they are gonna deny me bc I did IB (but I got really good grades in those classes so ???)

also did any of you guys not report AP or IB scores?? I chose not to report mine because it seemed kinda useless since I don’t think Barnard looks at scores for admission… but I could definitely be wrong and probably made the worst decision lol

I believe we hear back on the portal/email on Tuesday, December 11th.

Hey guys!! please check out my Chance Me post if you ever get a chance!! any feedback would be greatly appreciated. here is the link:

Decisions come out in about one month and I have never been so distracted in my life. Seriously stressing out so much here. Barnard is my dream and I have a feeling that I am going to be rejected :frowning:

@Leila747 Hi how did you know about this?

@Eezzww it comes out on the second Tuesday of December every year. You can check the past ED threads.

@yuelotus I’m so anxious I can barely think about anything else!!

I submitted ED and mailed my progress report last week and they still have not ‘received’ it based on the portal, anyone else having trouble with this? I am also anxious like the rest about the decisions coming next month.

@Leila747 Me too! Where are you from and what do you want to major in?

@AthenaCA I would call your regional admissions officer to check on that. My school sends my transcript so we never do it on our own. You should definitely just call to see if they received it.

@AthenaCA yes I’m having the same problem! My counselor called and they said sometimes it takes longer for them to process it…
