I can’t wait for results. Each day I get more and more excited to the point if I get reject I’ll probably be upset :(. Hopefully my SAT scores don’t effect my decision
I think the ED acceptance rate was around 45% last year
@goodgirl143 i feel the same way! my SAT scores are bad but good thing Barnard doesn’t care too much about them
@goodgirl143 same girl! my ACT scores are a little lower than Barnard’s standards but hopefully they’ll pay more attention to my extracurricular activities and grades!! also i think there’s talk that they might become a test-optional school within the next few years or so…
I really hope we all get in!!!
Guys I have a strong feeling our decisions release on December 12 (Tuesday). Last year and the year before that the ed results came on a Tuesday.
@jeanduck I wonder where you heard the 45% ED acceptance rate for last year? If that’s true, then it means almost 70% of the freshman class (45% of 934 ED applicants) was filled with ED applicants which seems very high for a highly competitive school like Barnard. In recent years it seems Barnard has not been disclosing their ED acceptance rates. If last year is any guide, on ED notification day, they released the # of ED applicants they received but provided no other data about ED admissions.
I’m curious did anyone go to Barnard’s summer in the city program last summer? I did!
when do we find out if we get accepted ED?!
@whiteb According to the Common Data Set I think rate was around 37%- here’s the link
https://barnard.edu/sites/default/files/cds_2016-2017_4.27.17.pdf
@sharon42 before December 15- we’ll get a mail regarding the date
Also does anyone know around what time did they release the notification date last year?
Has anyone from this group applied from NY? I have a feeling Barnard gets a lot of applicants from NY.

Do y’all think I have a shot for ED? Just curious
I sent them my resume like a week or two ago updating them on my new positions and what I’ve been up to and they said thank you, they’ll add it to my file! Do you think they’re going to look at it?

@lilax321 I don’t really think any of us are qualified to answer that question but you surely have a good chance. Though none of us can answer that question, we are all rooting for you!!!
@amaliep I’m from NY lol…I thought most people applied from out of state but maybe not?
@lilax321 Your extracurriculars sound pretty strong so I think you definitely have a shot! Standardized testing is important too so they might consider that if I’m being honest. (I’ve heard they’re more lenient but that isn’t necessarily confirmed.) We really don’t know how admissions will think so no one can really answer you like @hazymay101 said. Either way, I wish everyone the best of luck! Just keep in mind, Barnard may be everyone’s dream school but if there’s a slight chance some of us get deferred, waitlisted, or rejected, it’ll be okay. Don’t set yourself up so that on the chance you don’t get accepted, your world is shattered. This college process requires endurance, patience, and effort. Hang in there everyone. I really do hope we all hear good news as I’m sure we’re all strong candidates :))
I think Barnard gets a lot of in state applicants, but there are a good number of out of state applicants too! Btw I think we’re gonna get an email some time this week telling us when the decisions are gonna come out. Every time i think about it my stomach flips!
For some of the previous users who were discussing when Barnard will release decisions, I have December 12th saved in my calendar because Barnard has sent decisions out on the second Tuesday in December for the last two years that I could find.
Waiting has been SO stressful (as I’m sure all of you can imagine), because Barnard has been my top choice since my sophomore year when I read a novel written by a Barnard alumnae.
I do believe that everything happens for a reason but I still could not be praying and hoping any more since the second I submitted my ED application in mid October!! Less than 2 weeks left!
