hey, so i ll be prepping for SAT october 08 this summer and i have 2 books. I have the blue book, and the Barron's 23rd edition. I ll be using the Xiggi method with the blue book, but before that, i want to learn all the material well. I heard Barron's has the hardest (but best prepping) material so i bought it. Is it good? Do you guys think that i should go through Barron's 23rd before Xiggi method?

anybody?? ..?

cmon somebody give me ure opinion

i think u should first take a practice test from the blue book and see where u r,if you are on 1800+,yea,go for barron.but if you are on lower than 1800,try to go for other easier book, but not the blue book, maybe like.. princeton review or rocket review, these two are really good !

i took the SAT sophomore year (beginning, october) and had a 1460. But that was because i sucked at CR, nd i barely knew any math... im from US by the way but was born in india, and lived there most of my life.

You should do the Barron's how to prep for SAT book, it's great, but please don't memorise all the 3.5k words they give you, and ignore those diagnostic, practice tests. I wasted loads of time on them. Just the hot frequency words and maybe one of those shorter, around 300 words, lists from Rocket Review (it's around on the forum), they are much more productive. Personally I found the CR and writing sections quite useful (don't do the writing MC questions though) but math... was too lazy to go through so um, yah, the questions I've tried were overly hard though. And you should do some recent QAS as the Blue book questions, esp math, are not as difficult.

I suggest you do some Grammatix as well, it's probably the best book out there that could raise your scores in the fastest amount of time. It's CR sections are truly the BEST.
