I got 30 in English, 34 in Maths, 33 in Science and 30 in Reading in the Barron’s ACT prep book. With this scores, how much can i expect to get on the real ACT??
That is a great score, but as you know normally actual scores tend to be 1 or 2 points lower than the ones you did for practice. I did the Barrons ACT prep book, average around 34-35 and ended up with a 33 on the ACT. Also you should get “The Real ACT” prep book, I think in general its a more ‘realistic’ book than the barrons.
@SGTA25 I suspect your scores will be slightly lower, but still very good!.
As stated above, take a REAL ACT test to see where you actually stand.
You must take the test in a TIMED setting for an accurate prediction.
Well, I get more in the practice tests of the REAL ACT book than the barron’s. The score of each boost up by 3-4.
That should be a better reflection of where you stand.
If you can, try the 2015/16 released test
Barrons doesnt mean harder, it depends on the person. But getting more questions right on barrons does prepare you well, but does not translate into anything. That being said, im sure you will get a 33 on the real thing. I gt similar scores on the barrons, but i used pr and real act as well, to get mine.
Like others have said, it depends. As you can see, some people did worse on the actual ACT. Others performed at about the same level. For what it’s worth, I did both Barron’s and Real ACT prep. I scored lower on the Barron’s as opposed to the Real ACT prep (30s vs 33s), but I felt that Barron’s was more effective in preparing me for the actual ACT. Even though it’s not perfectly indicative of what the ACT actually was, prepping at a harder level mad the actual thing feel much easier. I ended up scoring a 35 on the one last September. I don’t know what score you’re aiming for (I would like to assume somewhere in the 33-36 echelon), but your practice tests scores are very good.
I got 31 in test. So can i expect a min. of 30 in the real ACT
