Let me begin this with saying that I have heard great things about there SAT book, so it was really my fault that I didn't follow everyone's advice and instead bought the ACT one. That said however it did have student's number one choice on the cover.

Alright let the ranting begin.

So I open the book skip past the usual garble-dee-gook about the deep philosophical discussion of the ACT and yet the lack of stress that it should inspire and got straight to the meat of it.

Diagnostic test, lovely. I had bought the book primarily to work on math, (my scores are:

R: 35
E: 31
M: 23
S: 29)

but I figured that it had been a while since I actually studied and I definitely had room to imrpove on the english test, so why not? I open it up and the first page of text is almost un-readable. I knew that it was supposed to be hard but this was just unrealistic and not related to the auctual skills required on the ACT. The ACT English section was comprised of bad writing, yes, but not so bad to the point where it compramised the ability of answering questions. I went through fourty-five minutes of wasting my time checked my answers just for the heck of it to see how I did.

Sure enough I got a rediculously low score. And the explanations were short sentence only.

Sure this book may be good for someone on the quest to the 36 searching for every book ever made but for someone with maybe only two or three books I'd leave this one out.
