Is studying solely from the Barrons enough for the SAT Math lvl 2?
Does it cover everything for the test?

I would say do not use Barrons. It is ridiculously harder than the actual exam. It does not help you to prepare with something that is so much harder. I have heard Princeton is good. Generally if you have taken Pre-calc, a review book is all you need.

Feel free to use Barrons if you consider yourself to be a good math student, but just don’t be disturbed by the lower-than-expected practice test scores. Get the official prepbook from collegeboard if you want accurate tests.

ps. NEVER use kaplan

Agreed with posters above - I used barron’s and it was intense but it does prepare you thoroughly, I’ve always found PR to be accurate even tho i didn’t use it for this particular test. In response to the title, yes, barron’s is more than enough, i didn’t use most of it and got an 800

Princeton Review is the best in my opinioin. I used barrons and I regret it. I focused on areas that didn’t even come in the test (ex.conics) and forgot to revise simple concepts that were actually a part of the test.

I used Princeton Review for chemistry and it was great. Solving the real exam felt like solving a practice test in the book.

The Barron’s learning material in the beginning is thorough. Yeah, it’s like twice as hard as the real test, but better to over-prepare than under.
True, it will cover obscure things that might not be tested, but it’s prepare to know them in case they do appear.
But definitely do not only use Barron’s to study. It only has 6 practices. I would recommend learning from Barron’s and doing all of its tests, but also doing the tests from Princeton and Kaplan.

Barron’s has some mistakes. be careful.

I studied from Princeton Review and took tests from Barrons just to prepare myself for the worst, and that worked out really well for me.

I took Math 2 in January and started studying 8 PM the night before. I took the diagnostic Barron’s test, made some stupid mistakes and just didn’t know some things at all. I read the beginning of the review section and then when it got closer and closer to midnight I just started to skim some things. Made sure I knew law of sines, law of cosines, and some basic conic stuff, and then took one more practice test and went to bed. I felt unprepared cause I only spent 3-4 hours the night before studying. Walked into the test, left 4 blank & got 2 wrong from what I knew automatically (was thinking like 740ish and freaking out) but I got an 800. So I really don’t know if Barron’s worked or if I just had good recall from Precalc last year, but it worked for me!

Thanks for sharing your opinions.
I already ordered Barron’s from Amazon since it is not available where I live.
As for reviewing the basics, should I order PR also or just buy an e-book(eg McGraw Hill)?

Oh no! Don’t buy barron’s! It’s a waste of time! It’s not only harder than the actual exam, but does not follow the format AT ALL!

I got a 690/710/660 on the Barron’s practice tests and I got into AIME and am in IB HL Calculus. On exam day, the test was in no way reminiscent of the wacky stuff Barron’s had put on their exams. Guess what? I found out I got an easy 800 in Math Level II today.
