Hello, I’m currently deciding between Baruch College in New York or NYU in Shanghai.
If you don’t know about Baruch, it is a CUNY (city university of new york) famous for their business school. NYU Shanghai is another campus that NYU has around the globe- this school is around 8 years old.
I will be studying finance at either school and I’m from New York. I have a 75% of going to graduate school after undergrad.
If anyone has experience with either school, please let me know!! It’ll help me decide.

Considering everything with COVID-19, who is to say that you are going to be able to even go to Shanghi.
NYU Shanghi is not NYU Stern (the business school)
Hi! I am from NYC and know NYU locally, not Shanghai. There is probably a HUGE difference in cost. That plus the issue of COVID tilts me towards advising Baruch. It’s a really good school that offers great opportunity. Do you want to be paying NYU prices just to come back to your apt in NYC and take classes online?? You can do a study abroad if you want to go to China. That will enable you also to better plan the timing of your China work.
@Dustyfeathers Thank you! I am also from NY so it would be 100% convenient, in terms of travel, for me to go to Baruch. The question you asked is very true as well.

Current Baruch student, am also a finance major so I can definitely give you some advice. The cost is obviously very different between the schools. Baruch is also known for finance and accounting.
