I got a phone call yesterday saying I have been admitted to Baruch Scholars and when I looked into it I found out it entails Full Scholarship, Free computer, Free Apple computer, Honors only classes, and early course registration.

I had applied to Macaulay at Baruch and I found out March 15th, but I want to know the difference between that Macaulay program and Baruch Scholars.

From what I can tell, the research grant is a little less $1300 vs $7500.

I can’t find information of the Baruch Laptop, but I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s a regular mac book vs MHC Mac Book Pro (although, being a tech nerd, I’d like to see specs on both of these).

I also can’t find anything about the cultural passport at Baruch, but for some reason I feel like that would still be included; best to check if that is important to you though.

The biggest difference I anticipate is that MHC allows you to attend any campus within the system, whereas I would expect that the Baruch honors program would only give you access to classes on it’s own campus. This is a draw back for me since I was hoping to study business and music, which are more or less specialties of different campuses.

I’m not an expert, in the same situation you are, just did a little research this afternoon (that’s how I stumbled onto this post)!
