Basic requirements for all UC's

Hi all,

I know that the basic transfer requirements to any of the UC's are:
2 English composition classes,
1 mathematical concepts and reasoning class,
4 classes out of the two different categories
-social&behavioral science
-arts&humanities
-physical&biological sciences

I'm a math and chemistry double major and I'm trying to transfer for the Fall 2014 semester. By then I would have taken 4 math classes, 2 physics classes, and 4 chemistry classes. I'm just wondering if these would take care of the 1 mathematical concepts and reasoning class, and the physical&biological sciences requirement part or if I need to take a class that are NOT the classes for my major in order for it to count as those prereqs. I mean I obviously can take care of those requirements since that's basically my life. Maybe i'm just thinking too hard? Please help!

I think you are over-thinking it. You should be okay, and I do not believe that you have to take the extra classes. (Not sure though) You still might need a biology class though.
Always, always, ALWAYS double check assist.org to see what you need!

As long as those math and science classes are UC transferable, they will count towards those requirements. If it counts for your major then that works out for you!

If you’re doing IGETC (my guess is that you are not) then it will automatically fill out all those requirements.

:) thanks you guys are probably right!

Just do IGETC to make sure you fulfill all requirements but at the same time use ASSIST to make sure that you are taking required classes for your major
