I cannot remember and cannot seem to find by searching just what are the actual standards for vision. My son just got an appt, and passed all the DODMERB last summer. (no waiver) However, he does wear glasses for nearsightedness. I think his uncorrected vision is 20/30 and 20/50. He has no astigmatism. We are going to the eye doctor to check to make sure he's had no big changes. What will they DQ you for on I day for vision? (Besides color vision problems) Thanks

Your sons vision is almost normal. All you have to be is correctable to 20/20 and within 6 diopters. My vision is a lot worse than you sons, so you have nothing to worry about. Color vision problems are an automatic DQ though.

USNA69 you are a great source of information!
Thank you.

I have fairly good vision, but still need glasses in the classroom at times. Will I be required to wear the glasses they issue me all summer or can I wear them at my own will?

S doesn't wear glasses, but got a waiver for vision..with contact...should he bring "new glasses" to I-Day
