I just applied regular decision. It’s definitely a little bit of a reach for me, but I’m hoping it works out! It’s a beautiful school with a strong liberal arts education
@whs2020 Good luck!
My D applied ED1 and made it
Congratulations j2soso!
Congrats j2soso! I got in as well! Do you know when Bates will be releasing more information about enrollment/housing/ etc.?
Congrats! I don’t know much about the enrollment details but the admitted student site seems pretty thorough.
thank you @twokids2go - are you still planning RD?
@j2soso - Yes! My D20 submitted her application to Bates in October. She really wants to go there but just couldn’t commit to ED. We are both hoping that decision doesn’t hurt her and she still gets in but we’ll see.
Does anyone know when RD decisions come out? Is it a set day, or rolling?
@efreed2024 It’s not going to be until sometime around March 20 or so.
No school with a 12% acceptance rate is going to have rolling decisions. How much have you learned about Bates? It’s hard to get in.
Yes, I understand how Bates works I was just curious as to how they managed regular applicants. I know most other selective schools like Bowdoin aren’t rolling.
Anyone else apply ED2? Also, do you think chances increase a lot for ED2 compared to RD. Stats and ECS wise i’m qualified but you just never know!
I did(RD). Hopefully I make it

RD chances?
My D just got in ED 2. So excited for her. We visited 32 schools altogether!
Decisions come out this Saturday! Excited!
@TXTxBTS02 - are you certain? Did they send an e-mail or post somewhere?
Saturday? Wow!
Does anyone have an admitted students tab on their portal? I’m curious if that’s for everyone or if it could mean something.
I have that tab, I doubt it does but who knows!
