@standford97 oh they’re not that good at all, especially in comparison to others on here. 2240 SAT, 34 ACT 3.85 GPA. but I do have some pretty unique extracurricular activities and leadership roles, and I’ve been told I interview relatively well. I think Baylor was really looking for those ECs and people that would initiate community service. (especially in comparison to other programs where they filter based on scores first) Hope that helps! :)

Thank you for your reply.Does 2240 is single sitting score or super score? We are also looking for these programs next yr.
GPA UW-3.67 with 4 APs and 4Honors.Planning to take 4 APs in Senior yr.
SAT–2100.Planning to take again(1410 Math+CR).SAT Math 800.Planning to take SAT II for Chemistry.
High school volunteer-200hrs,other volunteer hours–200.Planning to do research in summer in one of the good institutions.
Any chance on this.very interested in these programs.

@stanford97 single sitting. The most important things for these programs as I’ve learned is research. Get any kind of research experience you can and have something that sets you apart from the other valedictorians and studious people applying. For me, it was interesting hobbies and passions. Your stats look good but to even apply for these programs you need to have a minimum 3.7 GPA and 1400 SAT.

Thanks a lot.Do they consider first qtr of senior yr grades when applying. So that will try to get 3.7 by end of Nov.Our school first sem ends on end of January.

I’m really not sure! It depends when you submit your transcript, I suppose.

How many of B2B applicants were selected for the 2nd interview ?

I think around 15-20. In past years it has been around 12 but with the two additional seats this year, they’re interviewing a few more.

so about 3 to 1 chance to be b2b scholar.

Did anyone who attend the group discussion instead of B2B interview at Baylor got the interview invitation for the second interview? I am guessing Baylor just invited them to attend the group discussion to encourage them to consider Baylor for undergraduate education.

@medaspirant, are you saying some B2B attendees did not get an interview? Did they just attend the group discussion?

Baylor sent out the invitation for the first B2B interview at Baylor, Waco through GoBaylor. However, after 4 days Baylor removed the link for the invitation informing that they reached the full capacity for the B2B interview. Two weeks later, Baylor sent an email to the students who were not able to attend the interview requesting them to attend a group discussion with their Under Graduate PreMed director and also informed that the group discussion with be considered instead of the interview to move on to the 2nd level of interview.

I must say, the Baylor interview parameters approach the RIDICULOUS…inviting 100 plus students to WACO, at great expense I might add, with a REMOTE(at best) prospect of moving on to the Baylor Med discretion process. It is a gross misrepresentation and almost fraudulent. Probably a number of students who could barely afford the pursuit but reaching for that which is NOT in their grasp are a minus airfare/hotel. SHAMEFUL! I know that the odds are long but the Baylor process is sheer foolishness…

@MedAspirant - let me correct you - the first B2B slots were filled in the next day after email notice was sent out. I agree with @dumich that it is SHAMEFUL of Baylor to not plan accordingly. If Baylor wants to attract national talent, they need to step up their organizational skills. I, for one, am completely POed. The process is clearly designed to weed out people who live farther away from Waco.

@Late2Party…BRAVO…it is nice to see that I am not the ONLY p*sssed off party, and I, unlike others, am not financially burdened by the FIASCO!!

@dumich, I have been waiting to vent out my frustration about Baylor (hence my first post to this forum). Baylor gave full scholarship to my D within 7 days of applying - sending us to the seventh heaven. Then, they promptly whacked us to the ground level by disallowing to register to the B2B event because she was one day late to attempt to register.

Although the B2B interview day followed by Invitation to Excellence was well coordinated, I agree with you that Baylor did a poor job in initial B2B invitation. It doesn’t make sense to have “first come, first serve” in this prestigious program admission process. I wonder how many invitation emails were sent in the 1st day. I was surprised and got nervous that there were 100 plus candidates in the interview day. Hope it can be fixed for future applicants.

@Late2Party, did your D attend the group discussion in lieu of interview at Baylor?

@MedAspirant - I did not even know about the group discussion until I saw your post. In spite of exchanging emails with Baylor admissions several times indicating our displeasure and iterating our interest (back in late November), we were not offered the group discussion option. We have basically moved on from Baylor.

what about RICE/Bayler interview? anyone got interviewed already?

I have to agree to a certain extent, but we all knew the odds that we’d get selected for the 2nd round were at best 20/150. It was really up to you whether to make the trip down to Texas or not. I live relatively far away, a 4 hour plan ride, but we made the trip because I felt like I had a pretty good chance. Their agenda, interviewing 100+ students for the first round, was probably to convince highly qualified students to come to Baylor (and BCM) regardless of their entry acceptance into B2B.
