My daughter heard back early December for EA. It wasn’t our top choice, but we’re considering due to their scholarship offer. What’s the overall vibe at Baylor and what is Waco like?
Same here…
I applied in August. I DID hear back this week and was accepted! Good luck to your son!!!
@AnonDad2026 1530 SAT 4.0UW?? Yeah, pretty sure that’s a shoe-in! Wonder what the hold up is… or maybe they are thinking with those stats Baylor isn’t a top choice. ?? Who knows what admissions thinks -sometimes I think it’s all a crap shoot.
Thank you and congratulations on your acceptance! I did find out that one of his classmates that was accepted applied in December, which was shortly after he did, so now I’m a little perplexed. But, I’m also not sure how or the order in which they review them though. If you applied in August and found out last week, it could just be random order of review. But since his classmate also found out last week, which was the middle of the month, that indicates maybe they do release in waves of some sort. I don’t recall if they state whether their decisions are rolling or not for RD, I think his portal says we hear “by” April 1, which makes me think it could be anytime before then. But it’s been a stressful year, for sure.
We had a very good 30 minute virtual one-on-one with my kid’s Baylor admissions counselor last week. The counselor confirmed that, while Baylor is not “officially” on a “rolling” basis, decisions are released in random batches. Although the counselor would/could not state that we would definitely hear before 4/10, she mentioned that it is essentially a random, “luck of the draw” situation where applications are pulled out of the pile randomly, reviewed, and decided in batches. So the bottom line: we could hear anytime before 4/10. FYI, kiddo submitted application for RD in December. Haven’t heard back yet.
@trebleclef2 - For what it is worth, my sister applied 2 years ago in August. Heard back and was accepted at the end of December. But here’s the thing- her stats, all of them, were lower than mine! So I was starting to freak out a bit here… So it is probably all random. Sure hope you hear back soon! Waiting is stressful. I’m currently waiting on a few.
Thank you and same here!
That’s good to know - thank you!
I think I accidentally responded to myself, ha, but thank you and that’s good to know!
Hi everyone. So my DS is leaning towards Baylor but we want to visit a few more schools over spring break just to be sure he is 100% committed. I know that applying for housing open 3/1. At several schools I know you have to hurry to get this in to get in line for preferred dorms. However when reading last year’s board it sounds like it is a lottery and we could afford to wait before applying? Does this sound right? Also he is going to be in CS/Engineering. From researching it sounds like Teal is for Engineers usually but they are required to live there for 2 years. That might be fine but wanting to see if anyone has any experience with the dorm situation there? We have to select 4 options I believe and we just aren’t sure what others would be a good choice.
We did a zoom for admitted students and the admissions advisor from Baylor said as long as you get in by May 1, there is no preference for housing for doing it any earlier. My son is also still deciding between Baylor and TCU (and waiting on a few others). Good luck!
Thank you so much! Best of luck to you as well!
did any of the RD people hear back on scholarships?? I got admitted a month back just waiting for some scholarships cuz Baylor is very expensive.
I’ll ask this question again because I don’t understand. Now that the Invitation to Excellence scholars event Round 1, Round 2 and Virtual are over and ED 1 and ED 2 are long released. Is there anybody who applied Regular Decision and participated in IE2 round 1, round 2 or virtual round 2 and has not been academically accepted into the university yet? The info even says if you complete all the steps for IE2 then you are guaranteed a $1000 scholarship, if you don’t receive the full tuition scholarship, which implies you will be accepted. So, I am just trying to make sense of this process.
I cant answer to the IE1/2 but i would assume if you made it one of the rounds you are academically high enough to get accepted. Have they not released all their acceptances yet for RD/waitlist etc?
I did recently read that Baylor is planning to keep the class of 2026 at 3500.
Have not heard back regarding scholarships… hopefully soon! Was admitted about a month ago as well. Our notification stated we will hear in April.
I wondered what the class number was at … curious where you read that? Thanks!
I would think people who are up for their top scholarships would be much higher on their consideration list then waitlist… Every other college I have seen when you are notified you are a semi-finalist or finalist for a full tuition scholarship that notice comes with an admission letter.
Really, just trying to understand the process.
