BC 2013 Acceptance Rates

Does anyone know what they are for EA and RD? i have not seen any numbers yet. How many apps did BC end up getting, and how many acceptances did they give out?

Don’t know the acceptance for EA and RD specifically but have read in other threads that approximately 25,000 students applied and 7000 were accepted. That is almost 10,000 less applications than last year and 2000 less acceptances than last year.

Still under a 30% accept rate. I wonder what the wait list looks like and the activity that will ensue with it. 2000 fewer acceptances means that unless the yield is that much higher for them, there will be empty seats that will need to be filled from the wait list.

From what my guidance counselor has told me, the representative from my area informed him that they will definitely go to the wait list this year. My counselor mentioned that it is extremely uncommon for an admissions rep to admit something like this (in his words, it was the third time he has heard it in his whole 10 years on the job), so they must really mean it.

From another thread I read: BC received 25000 applications or so. It accepted 7000 and put 6000 in waitlist. If the yield goes up from 25% to 27%, then the class of 2017 will have 1890 students. Depending on the class size BC wants to have, I foresee anywhere from 100-300 waitlisters maybe even more being offered a spot in the 2017 class. I say this because maybe some students who place themselves in the waitlist are offered a spot but decide not to go because unfortunately they have lost interest and/or have set their minds up to go to the school they put their deposit down. Oh, I forgot to mention, that maybe half or so around 2000-3000 students might have put themselves in the waitlist. So it would be only 100-300 out of those 2000 or so waitlisters that would be offered a spot. I really don’t know. I am just guessing here. Hope I am right though. It gives some sort of hope to at least 100 -300 qualified students to be accepted at BC. What does everyone think?
