Hi! Really love these three schools… Do you guys have any pros or cons of these schools? would be very helpful for my decission. Thanks!
Lehigh…don’t attend unless you LOVE Gothic architecture and walking up and down hills. Town isn’t very interesting.
BC…somewhat less Gothic architecture, hills not as steep. Amazing city easily accessible via trolley. Very safe neighborhood and campus. Full array of Div . 1 sports. National power in men’s and women’s ice hockey. Jesuits are very open minded and fun.
Neu…right in the heart of the city. Area is a little too urban and gritty for some. Co-op program is big draw.
@moooop THANKSSSS
Lehigh - too many hills
BC - Jesuits are fun
NEU - urban and gritty
These are the kind of useful answers that you expect from the internet
Have you visited all three places? Which ones did you like?
Review the financial and get yourself to accepted students day at all three - that will be the decider
Lehigh has one of the best alumni networks in the country. But yes, it is hilly. Tough choice BC vs Lehigh.
Do you know your major?
Tell us about yourself, what you are looking for in a school, and what you want to do.
In terms of the vibe, NE is in Boston and has an urban but contained campus. Boston College also has a self contained beautiful campus-a bit more suburban cause it is in a beautiful setting near Newton. I’d be less thrilled with the setting of Lehigh -more rural and more frat boy reputation. But these differences may be meaningless to the OP.
Swampdraggin, the op can get lots of info about these schools fraom the internet, he was presumably looking for some intangibles andt other things that are hard to glean from the internet or promotional materials. No pictures can convey the hillinesss of Lehigh…imagine somebody who didn’t have a chance to visit before enrolling and wasn’t particularly fit…
Likewise there are plenty of people who have worries that a place run by priests is going to be dull and uptight. They need to know that Jesuits are far from the stereotype of priests.
And no map can give you an idea of what Northeasterns neighborhood is like.
You’re free to put in your 2 cents, but if the best you can come up with is visit and weigh the finances, I think you get the Captain Obvious award.
What’s your major?
I am undecided, but leaning toward the sciences. Academics are my priority, but I also look for good sense of community and school spirit. I believe in the work hard, play hard attitude
Lehigh is a sound choice then. BTW, Lehigh is not rural as was stated above.
There is a casino walking distance from campus, nice if you play poker.
@malim123 What additional information do you need to help you decide?
