i've heard BC this year is super competitive. both are a bit of a reach for me but not tremendously. act=30 and low unweighted gpa but i am in the IB programme. i can only apply to one of these schools. please give me your advice!

Pink, my son's high school has lots of applicants to both every year. Based on what I have seen and heard, I think the best bet would be Lehigh. Good luck!

any idea how lehigh's finaids are?

I have a topic on this somewhere in the college search forum somewhere. It might help you a little. Maybe.

Lehigh was my 2nd pick for colleges and a lotttt of my friends applied/were accepted to BC. I've visited both, so I'll tell you my perspective on each. Lehigh has a very nice campus.. the surrounding area isn't bad, but I've seen nicer. There's also a lot of hills to walk up and down on campus. Despite these two minor flaws, I personally loved Lehigh. The atmosphere seemed wonderful, the people friendly, and the academics right up to par.

Boston College had a beautiful campus as well. As a Jewish girl, however, I was a bit turned off by the architecture. Keep in mind that Boston College is religously affilaited with Roman Catholicism. That part didn't bother me, but there are many many statues/paintings, etc of crosses and Jesus and the like. The speakers also focused on the "Jesuit" way of life. With that being said, if a religous affiliation doesn't bother you, then BC is great too.

Basically, it all comes down to personal preference. Lehigh has less students than BC, and the area is not so busy. Financial aid is great at Lehigh, and they offer a lot of different scholarships as well. Although I will not be attending Lehigh, I am sure that I personally would have been quite happy there..

Check this out. The topic been covered.
