Accepted to Honors Program at BC's Carroll School of Management, and also Amherst College. I've been thinking about a business major, but am still open to a liberal arts education. Any recommendations?

if you are planning to get a MBA in the future I say go for Amherst, just because a liberal arts education would make you much more of a well rounded student and Amherst is a really good school. You don't necessarily have to study business to get into business.

Would you like to study the great philosophers? That is a major component of the BC honors college (as well as the general university). I would say Amherst. More well-rounded

Just look at the numvers above for Harvard law school. I think the B school would be similar. Amherst hands down.

I go to Columbia business school and am surrounded by Amherst alumni (I have one in my study group)! I can't even think of a BC alumnus here...

LACs do great for business preperation, much better than the BCs of the world.

No comparison-Amherst has over 150 years of great academic tradition with national reputation while BC was an average commuter school focused on the local Catholic community.

thanks everybody for your comments. i must say, i'm surprised that the honors program at BC's CSOM holds that little credibility...

which attracts students from all over the world.

yes, the ave student at amherst is smarter and more sophisticated...

but amherst is a boring school.

Amherst!!!

Christ, people turn down HY and P for Amherst, but BC is a safety you hope you won't have to go to!
