BC. vs. Gtown - a big difference in opinion on non custodial parent income

Hello,

I got into the BC honors program and Gtown and unfortunately financial aid decides where I go. I want to stay close to home due to family reasons, so BC is my #1 choice.
Ironically, Gtown, the far superior school, offered way more in aid.

Problem is: My dad is not willing to contribute to my education. My guidance counselor wrote a letter to both schools. There is no contact b/w us.

Gtown recognizes this gives me an ETF of 22K and I am a very happy camper.

BC refuses to face facts and gives me ETF of 34K and it drives me crazy.

I talked with financial aid office at BC and they don't wanna help. My next plan of attack is to call the Honors Program President and try to convince him to set up a meeting for me with him and the financial aid office.

Anyone do something similar to this and has any advice? What can I do to get BC to reconsider this nonsense?

Thanks for your time.

Why do you want to go to BC over Georgetown? Gtown is better endowed and can afford to be more generous with financial aid. It works this way across the board -- the very best need based aid comes from the elite schools.

Go to Georgetown. Honestly, there is no competition.

If worst happens, hop on Amtrack and get home in a few hours.
